Other user focused processes | Ben HuntBefore we look at the process favored by James Kinloch its also worth looking at what other ways there are of building a site. This is best as the user-based design process will be one that can be used where more resources are available. Other process mentioned people such as Ben Hunt and his seven stage process. This has a less resource focused approach to the user than the User Based Design Process that will be talked about, but it is a slightly more affordable version and so can be more widely inputted for smaller start ups. Part three, in this seven stage process, which is called 'know what your visitors want' is a solid connection with the end-users. This process states quite clearly that you need to look at what he has called 'primary personas.' These are "personas whose needs must be met, but whose needs cannot be met through an interface designed for any other persona." Its a key point that Ben Hunt has made. This process has many benefits for (small) budget websites and as such it is well respected. |
