The Pet Projects section is all about what works for viral SEO, what makes the user happy and what makes a site popular. Popularity, of course is contextual, so you must make the site popular for the right reasons. This project you are about to read about came about as a way to look and test, social effects on the way a site should be set out. It's about embracing a user on more that just a social level. As each page is set out the user in question is spoken to (in perosn) to gauge reaction and develop content. In essence it is a micro version of the User Based Design Process and a test of such a process. Pet ProjectsIn this section you will see the latest project that is being worked on. Some of the projects you will see will make it out of this draft stage and into the rest of the site and work that is taken up. At the moment the project being worked on is called 'Online people I know and their opinions.' The conceptThe idea of this project is to draw images of certain people in the online world and quote from them under each image. This is also a way of allowing users of the James Kinlooch site to have their image drawn. The project acts as a learning curve and test bed for new views on user avatars and the way a user will return to a site if they are empowered by it. Outcomes after a two week test phase will be stated. The end date of this test phase is Friday the 20th of June 2008. James Kinloch owns the rights to the images but with his consent they can be used. Pending usage there may be a fee. So far you can click the head you like and see the person who it is.
