The site is all about the structure and layout and how simple and quick it is for the user. This means that the video has to be well formatted and the file size low. Each video submitted to ITVLocal had to make sure that it reflects the area it was covering and it the right way. A great thing about the ITVLocal site is that is has a clear structure that is obvious from the home page. The home page makes it very easy to look at information about your area by a well designed map of the UK.

Content

ITVlocal, as a site and a brand, has a clear seo objective. That is, to cover local events in a and around Londons' boroughs and also the UK. Worked on by the very talented and creative Lena Lau it provides a local way for a borough and place in London to express it's self. The content of the site is video for the most part. As the site is all about what is going on in the capital then its video that each video had and has a geographic refernce to it and makes that area stand out. User Gererated Content plays a vital role as as the site grows pending what the users submit. This works well and UGC plays a vital part in many sites like this.

Culture

ITVLocal needed a way in which to move quick and cover some of the amazing event that go on in the capital. The answer there for was to combine HybridLab and it's staff members and their talent with London and all it's joy.One of the reasons for this, without doubt, is to make sure that the people working on the project had the chance to be part of a great brand like ITV. A team was built around this idea and they then go out and cover all manor of events. Be in the Chinese state circus, naked bike rides, festivals at Trafalgar Square or gigs the team would cover it. The videos would therefore reflect londons (and the UKs') amazing and varied culture.
